Scholarships to Sweetwater Union High School District

In 2025, SWC distributed $19,500 in scholarships to graduating high school students across the Sweetwater Union High School District. Scholarships were awarded at each of the district’s 12 comprehensive high schools, supporting students as they transition to higher education.

Founded in 1920, the Sweetwater Union High School District has grown to serve approximately 34,000 students in grades 7–12, along with more than 10,000 adult learners. The district’s campuses are located throughout Chula Vista, Imperial Beach, National City, and San Diego, including the communities of Bonita, Eastlake, Otay Mesa, San Ysidro, and South San Diego. Sweetwater’s student population reflects California’s rich cultural, linguistic, and economic diversity, including students of Hispanic, Filipino, African American, Asian, and other ethnic backgrounds. Approximately half of all students speak a language other than English at home, underscoring the district’s commitment to serving a diverse and multilingual community.
